LASER CUTTING AND ENGRAVING OF PLEXIGLAS

Our company performs laser processing on plexiglass / PMMA and other plastic materials thanks to two laser workstations dedicated to cutting, drilling and engraving. These lasers are equipped with software that allows the production of custom-made light panels using backlight unit technology optimized by our technicians.

LASER CUTTING: allows the creation of smooth, glossy edges without burrs and with minimal thermal alteration of the material.

LASER DRILLING: makes it possible to produce holes, even very small and precise ones, in a variety of shapes.

LASER ENGRAVING / MARKING: Thanks to laser technology, it is possible to engrave with different intensities on the material, creating images or writings with varying shades.

LIGHT PANELS

Laser engraving technology, based on an algorithm that adapts according to the shape and size of the light panels to be produced, optimizes the engraving process to ensure perfect luminous uniformity.
The use of edge LEDs also provides significant energy savings.

LED technology allows the creation of very thin custom-made light panels (from 5 to 15 mm). These all-inclusive panels are complete with reflective layer, light guide plate, diffuser or printed graphics, luminous system, and metal frame — with a total thickness of 15–18 mm.

All light panels are customizable in shape, size, and, on request, through the application of printed graphics on PMMA (plexiglass, methacrylate) or on backlit/translucent film.

The most common applications for these custom-made light panels produced by FIRMA are in the Residential & Yacht Design sectors, where panels are combined with onyx or marble surfaces.

For companies in the Lighting Design sector, FIRMA can also produce, based on customer specifications, hemispheres, cylinders, and luminous cone trunks derived from flat light panels.

In addition, backlit panels are widely used in the vending industry and in the field of signage — particularly for museums, airports, and road systems — where high visibility, uniform brightness, and energy efficiency are essential for clear and elegant visual communication.
